If there is one thing I have learnt from running Guerilla Embroidery so far it is how far ahead you have to plan! With this in mind, I have been working on some new products with a view to trying to flog them for Christmas (I know, it pains me to think about it too, it has only just been my birthday!) I know my practice has taken a turn away from product and more towards art - however, I made some of these with young people at the recent Calderdale Council workshops and they were really popular. Hopefully I will get a few orders and make some Christmas present money!
To add an extra dimension to these accessories, I hand printed and painted them (a chance to use my gocco printer and fabric screens which I haven't touched in a while.) I just sent an email out to my gallery contacts (a very successful morning spent this AM sorting all my contacts out once and for all!) - advertising them. Here's hoping I get a few bites. Not having wireless at home means that I infrequently access my emails/ contacts on the netbook and therefore I am more than willing to admit I have probably lost a few contacts that way. I'm pretty bad at networking and it is something I really need to work on.
